Mabley Handler Interior Design took roots in the Hamptons when Jennifer Mabley, an accomplished designer in New York City, was commissioned to design and decorate a residence with a specific intent to bring the homeowner back to the Southampton of her childhood memories. To do so, Ms. Mabley sought inspiration in the traditional shingle-style residences that have come to define classic Hamptons style. Working hand in hand with a local architect, she drew deeply from the area’s DNA to create a family home that not only matched the picturesque, tree-lined street it was situated on, but that truly paid homage to the Southampton’s rich and storied history.
The success of this particular project, along with their longstanding love of the area, inspired Ms. Mabley and her husband, Austin Handler, to relocate to Water Mill full-time in 2002 and focus their interior design business on projects in the Hamptons. Over the past decade, Mabley Handler Interior Design has become one of the most sought after design firms in the Hamptons. Along the way, Jennifer and Austin’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Hamptons Magazine, BEACH Magazine, Coastal Living, Luxe Interiors + Design, Ocean Home, Traditional Home, The New York Times, the Daily News, the New York Post, Newsday, and on NBC’s LX.TV Open House NYC, News 12, and the Discovery Channel.
